Asthma is a chronic lung disease characterized by inflammation and spasm of the bronchial tubes (airways). It is characterized functionally by the presence of airflow obstruction which is variable over short periods of time.

Due to hypersensitivity of the individual above triggers lead to release of histamine from the inner bronchial wall which leads to constriction of the bronchioles and thereby an attack of asthma.

Allergic asthma : Asthma which begins in childhood generally occurs in Atopic individuals who produce significant amounts of immuno-globulins on exposure to small amounts of common antigens. These kind of people have a high prevalence of asthma, allergic rhinitis, urticaria and eczema.
